CFTRI School, one of the popular & the best schools in Mysore city, has entered the 50th year of its journey on 2014. It was the vision of Smt Carolyn Parpia, wife of former President of CFTRI Dr. Parpia, which led to the creation of the institution,
What started as a small institution in 1964 has today blossomed into one of the leading schools in the heritage city of Mysore. With a well defined plan from the management of the school, we are celebrating the Golden Jubilee of the school during June 2014 to January 2015. The golden Jubilee events are spread over the academic year which include inter and intra school competitions in Debate, Quiz, sports, art workshop & exhibition on the theme ‘Art from Waste’, Science Exhibition day, Science talks by eminent personalities, Health & Nutrition camps, Alumni meet, Visit to various departments & Organization by the students etc.
The celebration of the Golden Jubilee has begun with various activities for children. It included Golden Jubilee Logo designing competition, Quiz competitions in Kannada, Nadageethe Singing competition, Desi sports etc.
The Inauguration function of Golden Jubilee was celebrated on November 1st along with grand celebration of Kannada Rajyothsava
Prof S.N. Hegde, Retd. HoD, Dept. of Zoology, University of Mysore and Controller of Examinations, Yuvaraja’s College, Mysore, was the Chief Guest at the Inaugural function. Prof. Ram Rajasekharan, Director, CSIR-CFTRI and the Hon. President, CFTRI Education Society, Mysore, presided over function.
Smt. Saraswathi Bai B, Principal, CFTRI School welcomed the gathering.
Prof. Hegde accompanied by Prof. Ram Rajasekharan and other dignitaries inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. He also hoisted the flag. Inauguration function started with the prayer song sung by the high school students.
To commemorate the Golden Jubilee events, a Golden Jubilee Logo designing competition was conducted for the students from V to X standard in September 2014, in which the students took part with a great enthusiasm. Prof. Ravi from Chamaraja Academy of Visual Arts, Mysore was the judge to select the Golden Jubilee Logo. The Logo designed by Master Shashank B.M. of X standard ‘A’ section had judged as the best Logo and selected as a dedicated Logo of Golden Jubilee functions.
The Golden jubilee Logo was unveiled by Prof. Hegde, the Chief Guest and Prof. Ram Rajasekharan, President of the occasion and is dedicated to the Golden Jubilee functions, which will last for the whole year till the concluding function.
The School Brochure was also released on the same occasion by the Chief Guest and the President of the occasion.
Smt. Tanuja J.L, Senior teacher, presented the History of the School. A dedicated song highlighting the history & growth of the school – written by Smt. Gnaneshwari, Assistant teacher – was sung by Smt. Gnaneshwari and group.
Dr. Anu Appaiah, Organising Secretary of Golden Jubilee Committee and EC Member, CFTRI Education Society, presented the future ambitious plan of the Education Society to to upgrade and expand the infrastructural facilities of the school in the coming years so that the expertise within can be of use to a large sector of the students.
Master Shashank B M, of X ’A’, made a short and memorable speech on Kannada Rajyothsava.
Followed by were the enlightening and motivating speeches by the President and the Chief Guest.
The inauguration function was made colourful by the songs and dances by the students. Programme ended with distribution of sweets to all
