The CFTRI School was established in the year 1964 with a purpose to provide education to the children of employees of the institute. The school was started in a small way and now it is open for general public and follows to the theme "Sarvashikshana Abhiyana" - 'Education for all' and has been able to reach the climax of progress and achievement in the all - round development of the students.

The school is located with in the scenic beauty of CFTRI campus which is about 3 km away from the heart of the heritage city of Mysore, free from the noise and din. The site is a paragon of blissful serenity and has an inspiring ambience. CFTRI school follows the syllabus entrusted by the Karnataka Government. The school celebrated its silver jubilee in the year 1990. Having a developmental history and experience of 25 years, the school is aiming to provide quality education & an over all development to all its students. It is a co-ed, English medium school and the school logo is "KNOWLEDGE IS POWER".

The school atmosphere is the one which makes every one very enthusiastic in the younger years and CFTRI School is no exception for such environment with the prolific campus and clean environment. CFTRI School with its sincere efforts is continuing on the path of progress. The gradual increase in the number of students, year by year is a proof that we have been able to achieve our objectives and are radually moving ahead to attain more success. School is a larger family and children must make sure that they live in harmony and peace by integrating fellowship and not only with the minds but also from the heart, the love and affection amongst themselves to build a strong school for a strong India of tomorrow.
